KOHIMA: The Chief Minister of the previous government in Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio has urged the people of the state to vote for the candidates of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party and Bharatiya Janata Party coalition in the upcoming election of the Nagaland Assembly polls.
The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party leader mentioned that the public of the state should vote for them in order to continue with the development and upliftment of the constituencies of the northeastern state. He mention that the distribution of the party tickets was based on the need and demands of the public at the grassroots level and governed by the partnership with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He also urged the party workers to work hard and ensure the winning of the candidates of both parties of the coalition. He was campaigning for Kudecho Khamo in the Chozuba constituency. He also mentioned the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the centre facilitated the Naga talks which was instrumental in bringing peace to the region. He mentioned that the 20 seats at the assembly level will enable the representation of the Naga people in the centre.
Neiphiu Rio also mentioned that one of the core agendas of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be to resolve the Naga political issue. He also mentioned that there will not be an alliance with any other political party for the upcoming elections. The previous chief minister also mentioned that this government successfully delivered what it had promised during the previous election. These included the development of infrastructure and connectivity in the state while urging the people of his state to avail of the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme and Chief Minister Microfinance Initiative scheme.
Another leader of the NDPP, Neiba Kronu also took part in the election campaigning with Neiphiu Rio and expressed his confidence about winning in the same.
